What is the real truth?

I Am Truth

“During all the years that we grow up, we make countless agreements with ourselves, society, with everybody around us. But the most important agreements are the ones we make with ourselves by understanding the symbols we learn. The symbols are telling us what we believe about ourselves; they’re telling us what we are and what we are not, what is possible and what is not possible. The voice of knowledge is telling us everything that we know, but who tells us if what we know is the truth?

When we go to grammar school, high school, and college, we aquire a lot of knowledge, but what do we really know? Do we master the truth? No we master a language, a symbology, and that symbology is only the truth because we AGREE, not because it is really the truth.” Excerpt from The Fifth Agreement by Don Miguel Ruiz

What is happening is simply what is happening…and that is truth. The meaning that we believe or assign it to mean is not the truth. Those meanings are all relative to each individual’s agreement with that personal belief. Much of my spiritual journey has been a dissection of the old stories & beliefs. It has been a discovery of the truth behind the lies. It has been a releasing of concepts, expectations, and venomous ways of thinking. It is a continual asking myself “What is truth” and “Am I living from that truth”? And one of the core truths for me is that “I” am true. My existence is truth…and that is enough.
